Job Overview

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Awantipora has invited applications for the position of Project Assistant (PA) under a research project titled “AI based Translation and Restoration of Rare Manuscripts.”

This project is funded by the J&K Science Technology & Innovation Council (JKSTIC), Department of Science & Technology, Government of Jammu & Kashmir. The role offers an opportunity for engineering and science graduates to work on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies focused on digital preservation of historical manuscripts.

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification

Candidates must have one of the following with minimum 60% marks:

• B.Tech in ECE / CSE / Artificial Intelligence
• M.Sc in Information Technology

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

• GATE qualification
• M.Tech or PhD
• Experience in Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning related projects

Terms & Conditions

• The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project duration.
• Selected candidates cannot claim permanent employment at the university.
• The university may terminate the contract of non-performing candidates without prior notice.
• Candidates must bring hard copies of the application form, self-attested certificates, testimonials, and a passport-size photograph during the interview.
• No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
• The university reserves the right not to fill the advertised post without assigning any reason.
• If a selected candidate wishes to resign, they must provide one month’s notice or salary in lieu of notice.
• Service conditions will follow university and funding agency rules.
