Young Professional-I and Young Professional-II positions under the National Soil Mapping Programme (NSMP) at the Division of Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry, Main Campus Chatha, Jammu.

2. Young Professional-I – 1 Post

Salary / Emoluments

• Young Professional-II: ₹42,000 per month (consolidated)
• Young Professional-I: ₹30,000 per month (consolidated)

Eligibility

Young Professional-II

• Master’s degree in Remote Sensing & GIS / Geoinformatics / Geospatial Applications or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience (other than degree programmes) in handling remote sensing and GIS software/data.

Young Professional-I

• Master’s degree in Remote Sensing & GIS / Geoinformatics / Geospatial Applications or related field.

Skills / Desired Experience

• Experience working with GIS and Remote Sensing software
• Knowledge of geospatial applications
• Experience with R software
• Understanding of Machine Learning models
• Experience in spatial data analysis and mapping

Role Details

Selected candidates will work under the National Soil Mapping Programme (NSMP) project implemented by the Division of Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry at SKUAST-Jammu.
The project focuses on scientific soil mapping, geospatial analysis, and agricultural productivity improvement using advanced GIS and remote sensing technologies.

This position offers exposure to institutional research environments, national-level soil mapping initiatives, and geospatial technologies used in agricultural science.
